Athenaeum Symphony Orchestra

    The Athenaeum Symphony Orchestra was formed by the musician Lucian Moraru, whose goal was to put together the most valuable musicians from Bucharest - Romania renowned for their virtuosity, musicality and proffesionalism. The Orchestra engages Bucharest`s best musicians commited to give universally acclaimed performance, with an international experience accumulated through years in hundred of concerts in and outside Romania’s borders. Their repertoire ranges from the early pre-classical, classical, romantic to contemporary and modern music. Every member of the Athenaeum Symphony Orchestra has a solid musical training confirmed by a large number of prizes at important international competitions.
    The orchestra regularly performs under the baton of Maestros Adrian Morar and Ilarion Ionescu Galati and has played at prestigious private and public events in Europe like the 28th IRU World Congress, the 23rd International Post Union , New Year Concerts or big out-door events organized by the Bucharest City hall. Also, the orchestra has collaborated in recordings and international live performances with well-known artists like Gheorghe Zamfir – pan pipe, Eugene Kohn – conductor. The Orchestra has recorded a few movie soundtracks and was engajed in a recording project like professional accompaniments for younger soloists the last production in the accompaniment for Reine de Ciel for mexican singer & composer Lorena Tassinari.

    The 24th of december 2002 - Christmas Oratorio of J.S.Bach in the interpretation of the "George Enescu" Philharmonic Choir and Athenaeum Symphony Orchestra - Cismigiu Garden, Bucharest (see photos section)
    The 23th of december 2002 - Concert of valses, polkas and marches of Johann and Joseph Strauss - conductor Ilarion Ionescu Galati - The Bulandra Theatre, Bucharest
    The 1st of June 2002 - Concert at Parliament Hall, Bucharest, ocassioned by the 28th IRU World Congress. Soloists Athenaeum Symphony Orchestra (Ioan Adrian Morar - conductor, Irina Iordachescu - soprano, Constantin Neiconi - tenor, Adrian Marcan - baritone). Program included:
